Paul-Chicago says: Love is in the Air 15 Feb 02 // 7:39AM

As the announcer noted that the train was on its way, a man came into my field of vision. He stopped about three feet to my left, and said, "Hey man, can I talk to you about something?" I turned and shot him a look - inadvertently, mind you - figuring that he was going to hit me up for some money, or a pony. I readjusted my face and said, "Sure, sure." Little did I know we'd have a deep conversation about love and devotion - on the El, no less.

Love is in the Air, new at Chicago Stories.

We've posted new featured stories, both about imbibing:

"'Poor man's cocaine,' is what they call it." Arab Dance (Coffee), by Rick Still

"I once woke up at a gas station in Miami Beach. I think it was a Citgo." A Doze on the Beach, by Robert Morrison

Plus, Ben Ostrowsky shares a photograph of Meer's "Miami Grafin,'" taken in 1994 at the former Modernage warehouse in Cutler Ridge. The warehouse was abandoned after Hurricane Andrew leveled most of the area.
