The events of one year ago sent shock waves around the world. We lost some of our own in New York that day. Other Dubliners who have emigrated to New York found themselves part of the rescue teams.

Brendan Dolby writes about his experience of the 11th of September 2001 in Nine-Eleven, Dublin.

Dubliners are no strangers to terrorism. Amongst other attacks, the city had its own version of 9/11 on a small scale in 1974, when some terrorists planted car bombs in the city centre. Thomas Sheridan tells of his experience of the 1974 Dublin Bombings in After School Education.
